The Green Section Department of the United States Golf Association, founded more than eight decades ago, remains the
nation's chief authority regarding impartial, authoritative information for turfgrass management. Established in 1920, the Green
Section involves itself in every phase of golf course maintenance and management. The Turf Advisory Service brings to golf courses
a wealth of information regarding maintenance of golf courses. The Green Section's activities also include funding research on new,
improved strains of turfgrass and the promotion of environmentally sensitive construction and maintenance practices.
