Herbicide-resistant weeds have become widespread across the United States Corn Belt, becoming a major agronomic and economic concern for crop producers. This presentation will help farmers, crop consultants, and extension educators integrate knowledge of weed biology to improve control of herbicide-resistant weeds. Specifically, this presentation will discuss how chemical, cultural, and mechanical weed control tactics can be used to prevent weed seed production and deplete the weed seed bank of
herbicide-resistant weeds. Utilizing integrated forms of weed control based on weed biology and emergence will provide effective ways to both manage and deter the spread of herbicide-resistant weeds.
